5 Healthy Halloween Treats!
Halloween is the perfect time to indulge in festive treats, but it doesn’t have to be all about the sugar! Here are five delicious and healthy Halloween recipes that will satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt. Try them out as a festive daily indulgence or for a fun themed party!
1. Spooky Chocolate Protein Spiders
These bite-sized treats are perfect for a spooky snack that packs a punch of protein!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 1-2 tbsp almond milk (to adjust consistency)
- 2 Cups of dark chocolate or sugar free chocolate chips
- Edible decorative eyes
- Chocolate Sprinkles
- 1 Tbsp coconut oil
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix the oats, cacao powder, protein powder, and chia seeds.
- Add in the almond butter and honey, stirring until combined.
- Slowly add almond milk until the mixture sticks together without being too sticky.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
- Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Then melt your preferred chocolate with a bit of coconut oil and dip these balls in, placing them on a thin cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Attach eyeballs while chocolate is still cooling and add a bit of "hair" chocolate sprinkles on top.
- Break you pretzel stick a little less than half and poke shorter end facing upwards at top of spider.
- Attach the other half of the pretzel stick to the spider leg as in photo and "glue" together using melted chocolate! You can also cover the rest of the pretzel with a bit of melted chocolate to match it to the spiders body.
2. Franken-avocado Toast
Have fun with your breakfast and get in the Halloween spirit with Frankenstein Toast!
Ingredients:
- 1 Slice of Preferred Bread
- 1 Avocado mashed
- 1/2 Lemon Squeezed
- 1 Tsp of Coarse Salt
- Black Olives
- Red Pepper
- White cheese slice
Instructions:
- Toast your bread to desired crunchiness
- Mash avocado with lemon juice, salt and any additional add in's you'd like!
- Spread avocado on toast when ready and use black olives sliced into quarters at the top of the slice for Frankenstein's hair.
- then use very fine olive slices to create cute stitches around the face.
- next cut two small circles of preferred white cheese for the eyes.
- Then cut a black olive slice in the middle to create a round black circle for the pupils!
- He's ALIIIIVVVEEE!
3. Ghostly Greek Yogurt Bark with Protein
This frozen yogurt bark is fun to make and a nutritious treat that’s perfect for the whole family.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips, melted (for "ghost" faces)
- 1/4 cup fresh berries (for decoration)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, protein powder, and honey until well combined.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the yogurt mixture evenly over the sheet.
- Use melted dark chocolate to create little ghost faces by dotting eyes and mouths onto the yogurt.
- Sprinkle with fresh berries for color.
- Freeze for at least 2-3 hours, then break into pieces before serving.
4. Monster Apple Bites
These fun and easy treats are a hit with kids and adults alike—plus, they’re loaded with fiber and healthy fats.
Ingredients:
- 2 large apples (any variety)
- 1/4 cup almond or peanut butter
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- Dark chocolate chips (for "monster" eyes)
Instructions:
- Cut apples into wedges.
- Spread a thin layer of almond or peanut butter on one side of each apple wedge.
- Press sunflower seeds into the peanut butter along one side of the wedge to create "monster teeth."
- Add two chocolate chips on top of each wedge to make "eyes."
- For added Halloween fun, use a toothpick to dab on some peanut butter to the chocolate chips to make them stick better.
5. Collagen-Packed Pumpkin Muffins
These healthy pumpkin muffins are great for breakfast or as a snack, and they include a scoop of collagen for a boost of protein and joint support.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup pure pumpkin puree
- 1 scoop beauty collagen powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, pumpkin puree, honey, and melted coconut oil.
- In another bowl, mix the almond flour, collagen, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until mixed.
- Divide the batter evenly between muffin cups.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
